Children's Ministry

Welcome

God has been so gracious to us at Drakes Branch Baptist Church.  We have seen our children's ministry continue to grow as we seek to minister the gospel to children and families.  We believe that the family has been ordained by God as the primary means of discipling children.  Therefore, it is our desire to come alongside the family in ministry and provide whatever assitance we can as you seek to disciple your children.  Moses lays out the responsibility of parents to their children when he says, "And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children." (Deuteronomy 6:6-7a)  While programs are a necessary part of local church ministry, it is not our desire to build a program but rather to invest in the lives of your family.  This is done through the faithful teaching of God's Word in settings such as Sunday School, Wednesday night Bible Study (TeamKid), VBS, and much more.  We hope that you will consider giving us an opportunity to invest in the lives of your children as we come alongside your family in raising up mature disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In Christ,

Pastor of Student Ministry and Outreach

Kids Worship meets each week (except 5th Sundays) during the worship service.  Kids exit during the offering and parents pick them up after the service.

What is TeamKid?

TeamKid is our Wednesday night children's program.  TeamKid is a high energy time for kids to learn more about God and have fun doing it.  We begin each week all together in the fellowship hall with music, games, and much more!  We then split into age appropriate groups and move upstairs for our Bible study time.  Our Bible study time includes a story from God's Word about the way He has worked among His people in the past and that is applied to how He is working in our lives today.  We have a missions focus time, more games, prayer time, and snack.  This is an exciting time for kids as they get to see God's Word come alive for them in ways that they may not have experienced before.  They learn that the story of the Israelites' Exodus from Egypt is not just a cool story about something that happened a long time ago but that it applies to us today as we see God's power on display along with His tender care for His people.  We see that God is faithful to us even when we are unfaithful to Him.  Most importantly we learn that God desires to deliver us from the bondage of sin through our Savior, Jesus Christ just as He delivered the Israelites from Egypt.  This is the children's activity that you won't want to miss!
